I had an overall pleasant stay at the hotel. The rooms were clean and well-maintained, offering everything needed for a city break, although there was a noticeable chip in the room and a slightly moldy bath mat. The staff were lovely, polite, and friendly. The location was excellent for tourism, near major attractions but not in the safest area for evenings. The dining experience had its ups and downs, with excellent service on the first day but a disappointing continental breakfast the next day. The facilities were adequate but not exceptional.

The rooms were clean and well-maintained, very quiet for the location and equipped well for a city break. However, there was a rather big chip in one of the rooms and a moldy bath mat.

The staff were particularly helpful, competent, and super nice, always attending to requests without any fuss.

The hotel had some ups and downs. The rooms could use some improvements, especially with the noisy portable air con unit, but the hotel provided good service with a friendly touch. The location was convenient for exploring Edinburgh, although parking was a bit of a hassle. The dining offered limited choices, but the hotel was close to St Giles Cathedral and the bustling Royal Mile.

Rooms
5.0
The rooms were average and lacked comfort and facilities. Filthy conditions with broken tiles and water leaks in the bathroom.
Service
9.0
The service was very helpful and friendly. They even put a lovely soft toy duck in the buggy.
Location
7.0
The hotel's location is good for exploring Edinburgh, being near St Giles Cathedral and the Royal Mile, although parking was difficult.
Dining
5.0
The dining experience was very limited in choice.
Facilities
Facilities were lacking, with the most annoying issue being the noisy portable air con unit in the rooms.

My stay at the hotel was a mix of positive and negative experiences. The room was very clean and pristine, but unfortunately, the noise from outside stairs disturbed my sleep. The hotel's central location was a big plus, making it easy to explore the heart of Edinburgh, despite the tired appearance of the room compared to the pictures. The dining experience was subpar, with a high price tag for what was offered.

Rooms
8.0
I found the room at the end of the corridor, shared with two others, to be very clean and well-maintained despite some scuff marks on the paintwork and windows. However, the noise from the external stairs outside was disruptive, impacting my sleep quality.
Service
7.0
The staff's service was a mix of friendliness and some lapses in attentiveness. While some were friendly and efficient, I encountered rudeness from one staff member during my stay.
Location
9.0
The hotel's location at the center of Edinburgh's main attractions was fantastic, allowing easy access to both the Old Town and the New Town areas. However, the room didn't quite match the appeal shown in the pictures online.
Dining
5.0
The dining experience fell short of expectations, with an overpriced and disappointing breakfast served at the adjacent restaurant. The self-service area lacked basic amenities like salt and pepper, and the overall cleanliness was not up to par.

The hotel had some issues with the rooms' condition, such as lots of marks and cracked paint and a noisy portable air-con unit that disrupted our stay. On the bright side, the hotel's service was accommodating and friendly. The location was ideal for exploring local attractions but lacked proper dining facilities. Despite its flaws, the friendly staff and convenient location somewhat made up for the rooms' shortcomings.

Rooms

The room felt like the basement, extremely hot with a noisy fan/generator.
Service

Location

The hotel offers a mix of pros and cons. While the rooms were a bit dirty with some areas needing attention, the bathrooms were lovely and spacious, and the super king beds along with a kitchen were great. The location is excellent for exploring both the Old Town and the New Town, but the room temperature could get a bit hot. Despite a somewhat mismatched dining atmosphere, the services provided were friendly and helpful.

Rooms
7.0
The rooms had a mix of cleanliness issues with dirty bedside tables and a somewhat neglected kitchen and floor. However, the bathrooms were gorgeous and spacious. Staff made efforts to clean daily.
Service
9.0
The service was welcoming, knowledgeable, and friendly, with special attention towards being accommodating for our dog.
Location
8.0
The location was fantastic, right in the heart of the Old Town and very convenient for exploring. Despite some minor temperature issues in the room, the central setting was great.
Dining
7.0
The dining experience felt a bit cafe-like and not fully in line with the room style. However, the selection was typical Sicilian products, which added a local touch.
Facilities
8.0
The hotel provided essential amenities like dry cleaning, laundry, and shuttle services.
